![]() ![]() The convenience features this game offers are really wide no-grind gameplay, automatic healing of characters after battle, fast movement speed of characters in the map, no random-battles, (eventually) Sky Armor map traversal for most maps, no 'fetch' sidequests, fairly plentiful fast-travel. I think it's also helped that CE did not have Early Access, and therefore there was zero information on this game's hidden contents when I played it over this weekend. It fills its 30+ hours of play with actual content (story, side story, exploration, etc.) which makes this my #1 new game played this year. It's a throwback to JRPGs from the early 2000's, but with a lot of convenience and modern features along with the removal of time-padding grind mechanics. Gets a nomination from me because it's been a long long time since I've seen a JRPG that doesn't try to re-invent the wheel and instead aims to improve it. Voting / Nominations are still open for these! We will determine the winner by counting the vote total (upvotes with vote ratio applied) on a given comment. At the end of the month, the bot will comb through these threads and scrapes all top level comments that match the above format (its just going to look for strings inside of double asterisks). If a second entry is submitted for a game, a bot will automatically remove it and redirect the user to the comment that already has this game nominated. Comments without description/rationale will likely automatically be removed by Automoderator for being too short and they don't generate healthy discussion. In addition, please follow up with a short summary as to why you think the game fits into this category. You can accomplish that by surrounding the name with asterisks like so: If you would like to nominate a game, please leave a top level comment at the root of this submission with the game name in bold. Which role playing game (Japanese or otherwise) from 2022 stood out to you the most? Did the game introduce any new mechanics or interesting things to an existing series, or was it a unique new IP perhaps? What about the game did you like the most? What did it do better than other RPGs? Format Each day we will be throwing up a new category to discuss and vote on, and at the end of the year we will round up the results and post them for everyone to discuss. Voting and nominations will remain open for all categories until the end of the event. Welcome to Day 9 of our End of Year discussions! We will continue to post new categories on a regular basis leading up to the 2022 Game of the Year category. ![]() /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
